From the time that my Uncle Jim took me to my first BRAVES game, though the day that he met Jesus, he has always been an inspiration to me...in more ways than I can tell, or show.  I am named after Uncle Jim...VERY proud of that...I will miss him on THIS earth, but I look forward to our reunion in Heaven one day.  Aunt Carolyn, you and Uncle Jim are a model for how a husband and wife should live together, love together, and share life together, and above all, love God together. Carolyn,
I just learned of Jim's passing moments ago.  I am so sad to learn of this news.  Jim was such a special, special man who I was so proud to have known.

He was generous with his time and efforts with Mt. Horeb, the Lexington Arts Center group, and I'm sure many others.

Please know that he and your family have been and will be prayed for.  He will truly be missed so much.

Our deepest sympathies are with you, Carolyn, and all of the family members. Jim and my dad, William H Holmes (Bill) were of the best of friends for many long years.  I fondly remember Jim when I was a child, visiting in Atlanta, GA.  They both worked for Southern Bell for many years in Georgia and South Carolina.  Jim was a lot of fun, and really enjoyed our camping trips together in the mountains many years ago. It was so good to see you and Jim at Dad's funeral service in September. Carolyn, God Bless you.  I am sorry, but I can not make the service Monday, as it was such short notice.  I wish I could be there.  Much Love to you all!

I will treasure the stories Mr. Jim shared with me. He always made me smile. My love goes to you Miss Carolyn. May you find peace within soon.

Jim and I are of the same age and were friends of  long ago  at Hand Jr. High, Dreher High, U S C  where we went into Sigma Chi ( with Llyod McMillan)  together.  -- those are fond days to recall. So glad to have known Jim through all these years of his accomplishments. My condolences to you all and have peace in your hearts through faith knowing that JIM is with the Lord.
