James David Snead

COLUMBIA, SC – James David Snead, 70, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 2:00 at Dunbar Funeral Home Northeast Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Born in Bristol, Tenn., he was a son of the late Leon and Blanche Davis. He was a die-hard Tennessee Volunteer football fan and enjoyed watching the games with family and friends. He was an advanced golfer and enjoyed spending the day on the golf course. He was a graduate of Bristol High School and acquired an Associate’s Degree from Midlands Technical College. He proudly served his country in the US Army serving in Vietnam and stationed for two tours in Korea. He worked with the Disabled Veteran’s Association. Most of all he was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his loving wife, Margaretha “Margie” Snead, son, James “Jimmy” David Snead and wife Angela of Saluda; daughters, Andrea “Bina” Hollis and husband Jay of Chapin, Theresa Van Rees of Blythewood; grandchildren, Jordan Snead, Austin Snead, Haley Hollis, Taylor Van Rees and Connor Van Rees; brother, Roy Snead and sister, Rita Whitt both of Bristol, Tenn. and several nieces and nephews.
