Jane Cornwell Hearn

COLUMBIA - Jane Cornwell Hearn, wife of James R. Hearn, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday October 21, 2014 at her residence. Born in Chester SC, she was a daughter of the late Inez Graves and Tom Douglas Cornwell.

A celebration of life will be held at Shandon United Methodist Church, Columbia, SC, October 24, at 2PM with inurnment in the church columbarium.

Jane attended Winthrop College and the University of South Carolina. She was a teacher at Shandon United Methodist Church Preschool/Kindergarten for 20 years and enjoyed following the successes of her preschoolers as adults.

She was a member of Shandon United Methodist Church and previously attended First Baptist Church of Columbia. She served in the preschool ministry at both churches.

In addition to her husband of 67 years, she is survived by her children Cynthia Hearn (James Campbell) and Tom Hearn (Clare), and beloved granddaughters, Mary Catherine Campbell of Johns Island SC and Elizabeth Ann Campbell of Columbia, SC. She was predeceased by her youngest son James Hearn, sister and brother-in-law Alice and Charlie Timme, and nephew Jack Timme.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shandon United Methodist Church, 3407 Devine St. Columbia SC 29205.
