With deep love and profound sadness, the family of Janet Elizabeth Lewis Sanders announces her passing on December 8, 2025. Born on January 10, 1971, in Winnsboro, South Carolina, Janet lived a life defined by loyalty and an unwavering devotion to the people she loved.
Janet was the beloved wife of Wayne Sanders, with whom she shared loving partnership, and a life built on mutual dedication and family. She was the cherished daughter of Brenda Lewis, who survives her, and the late John Henry Lewis. She was preceded in death by her brother John Randall Lewis. She is survived by her brother Henry Paul Lewis and his wife Sarah.
A dedicated and hardworking woman, Janet spent 20 years employed at Wilson Chevrolet, where she was known for her reliability, strong work ethic, and a mutual respect amongst colleagues.
Janet’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother to her son Benjamin Lewis, whose happiness meant everything to her. She also shared a love for her stepchildren—Brandon, Grayson, Brittany, and Michael.
Janet took great joy in being part of a growing family. She looked forward to weekends spent with Brittany and Michael, giving Benjamin siblings to play with. And she enjoyed time spent with Grayson Sanders, his wife Jennifer, and their children Stetson and Riley. She likewise cherished Brandon Sanders, his wife Katie, and their children Walker and Cooper, whose own family’s welcomed grands into her life.
Janet had many passions that added richness to her life. She loved horses, so many of her most memorable times involved trail rides and being around a horse. She delighted in trips to the mountains, her favorite place to unwind and reconnect with nature. At home, she adored doting on Flower, the beloved dog she shared with her son, Benjamin, showering her with warmth and affection.
Known for her quick wit, Janet brought humor into everyday conversations. She had a playful streak and was often a prankster, delighting friends, colleagues, and family with her sharp sense of fun. Those who knew her best will remember her as a genuine friend—dependable, and unquestionable loyalty.
Janet’s has left a lasting imprint on all who had the privilege of knowing her. As her family mourns this immeasurable loss, they take comfort in the legacy she leaves.
A memorial service for her closest friends and family is scheduled for Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. at the home she shared with her husband, where her life, love, and memory will be honored.
