I had the pleasure of sitting next to Jimmy at our Codger's breakfast.  We shared many stories of our time while assigned to Vietnam.  He was also a member of our Combat Veterans Group that met on Wednesday evening.  It was a total shock to me when my friend Neil called me on Thursday morning and said that Jimmy past.  May he rest in peace.  God Bless his family.

Uncle Jimmy....  What can i say other then... I am so very sorry to hear of his passing.  He was a man that seemed larger then life as he was a proud Navy veteran and a proud Father. He was blessed with caring and capable hands as well as a solid character and legendary abilities. We will all miss him dearly but we will forever keep his legacy alive through pictures and stories. I however am comforted that he is now with my mother who preceded him in death. But i feel comfort knowing that they are now back together, as in all the stories and tales we heard as children and as we will still remember as adults. 

Rest well Soldier for your time here is done. One day we will meet again, and for that day.....   I send my love, thoughts, and prayers to the family that you have passed down this watch to.

There are so many memories to write in such a small space.   Uncle Jimmy was my uncle buck.  He was larger than life and taught me how to be a strong girl among a sea of boys.  He was so many things to me.  He taught me how to play chess.  I studied and finally beat him several years later.  (Life achievement). He taught me how to make apple pie and threw a bunch of flour in my face shortly there after!  We laughed and I cried tears of flour...  

In all he was my soft, loving, super supportive "girl" uncle.  He taught me what a supportive partner looks like, how to be a stay at home dad and rock it.  He showed me that roles in a household are not predetermined.  Whatever works for your family is what works and matters.  

Uncle Jim you were way ahead of your time.  You will always be part of our family and I carry these lessons down to Aidan.  Your legacy carries forward.  I will miss you as the amazing uncle you were.  My favorite uncle Jimmy!

I was  related to Jimmy only as a former inlaw since the 1970s, and with my husband Chuck who knew him as well, we were on our way to catch a plane from Washington State to finally see Jimmy again after many years, looking forward to his funny stories and gut splitting dead-pan sense of humor and antics. 

Then we got the saddest of all phone calls from Patty that he had passed away suddenly and unexpectedly hours earlier. It filled us with shock and disbelief to realize that we'll never see him, or hear his voice on the phone again. Sadly I can't post any of the decades old  photos, because they're all in albums to which I have no access while traveling  - but Jimmy will live on in our memories forever.

Our grieving thoughts are with Patty, their two sons Rob and James, and all of the Adams, Emmons, and Morse family members.

So very sorry to get this news he was the best— when I lived in the neighborhood you could count on Jimmy for help loved his smile and laugh

Uncle Jim was an amazing man, no doubt about it. I feel very lucky to have had him as a role model and a sort of life coach. He always took the time to explain the how or the why to this pesty niece. He taught me things like plumbing, wood working, card and dice games, and how to make the best breakfasts. Mostly he taught me to take pride in whatever you set out to do and always believe in yourself. 

I remember being young and visiting when they lived in Hawaii. At the time I was fascinated with stilts and I really wanted to learn how to do it. My Dad and Uncle Jim made me a set of "stilts" out of 2x4's from the shed. They made the handles small enough for my hands with no danger of splinters. They made the bases big enough for my feet to sit securely. And they made the height a whole 6" or so above the ground....hahahah....But it satisfied me! It literally gave me a little lift, ALOT of fun, and I learned about balance. 

I'll carry his memory and lessons in my heart forever. Wishing his family and friends peace and comfort.

Jimmy was my oldest brother which I spent two weeks with him when he passed. So sudden I was in shock. He was a great husband ,father and grandfather. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Rest in peace Jimmy love you.

What a great man. He’ll be deeply missed & remembered forever!!  I’m so sorry for the loss to his wonderful family!!
