John enjoyed the simple things in life: sweet tea, cold beer and good food and that boy could eat!
He loved to be out in nature and had a passion for kayaking. Known to his friends on the river as “Showboat”, he took great pleasure in certifying his fellow kayakers in swift water rescue.
He is survived by his life partner, Katie; his dad and mom, Buck and Kathryn; two brothers, Matthew (Tara) and James; his nieces, Hope and Shelby and nephews, Jordan and Logan.
The funeral service will be private for close family only.
