Kate-Lynn Marie Cates passed away unexpectedly on August 13, 2025 at the age of 31. Born in Bakersfield, California on October 1, 1993, Kate-Lynn brought warmth, laughter, and compassion into the lives of all who knew her.
Kate-Lynn is survived by her loving mother, Sherry (Joe) LeBlanc of Louisiana, and her father, James Dunn of Oregon. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings: Kimberly Dunn of Southern Pines, Jacob Clark of Bakersfield, Chaley Labra (Brandon) of Raleigh, and Blake Smith (Hannah) of Bladenboro. She adored her niece, Audrey Campbell, and shared a deep bond with her special friend, Kurtland Keeter, who held a cherished place in her heart.
Kate-Lynn had a gentle spirit and a contagious smile and laugh. She was known for her kind heart, her sense of humor, and her ability to light up any room she entered. Her presence was a gift to those who loved her, and her memory will be held close by all who were lucky enough to know her.
A celebration of Kate-Lynn’s life will be held privately by immediate family.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
