Katherine "Kathi" Aileen Reynolds

Katherine “Kathi” Aileen Reynolds, 64, passed away peacefully at MUSC in Florence, SC on March 8, 2025 following a stroke. A memorial service will be held to honor Kathi’s life on April 5, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Watershed Fellowship (711 East Main Street, Suite S Lexington, SC 29072). In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hebron Colony’s Grace Home Ministry.

Kathi was born in Savannah, Georgia in August of 1960 to Hiram “Hank" Reynolds and Barbara Smith. Daughter of a US Air Force Electrical Equipment Specialist, Kathi had the opportunity to live in Morocco, Spain, and travel throughout the United States with her family before they ultimately settled in South Carolina.

A graduate of Marion High School in 1978, Kathi later went on to marry and have four children. She was active in the church and led praise and worship at Word of Faith Christian Center in Marion, SC. She returned to college in 1986 and earned her Bachelor of Arts in English at Francis Marion University in 1994, while raising her children.

Kathi worked in education for over 13 years, teaching at Johnakin Middle School and Marion High School, where she taught English Language Arts and Theater. One of her proudest achievements in education was leading the MHS Dramatic Foxes to the South Carolina Theater Association competition in 2011, where the team earned a Certificate of Excellence in Creatively Choreographed Transitions and special recognition for one-act ensemble play “Wings.”

Always ready to make a new friend, Kathi was known for her quick wit and lively personality. She was loved and cared for by her children; many nieces and nephews; her sister, Karen (Steve); her brothers, Mark (Karen) and Scot (Debi); cousins, and countless friends.

Kathi was predeceased by her parents and two children who passed in pregnancy. Her legacy includes her four living children–Katie Middleton (Matt) of West Columbia, Will Grice (Allie) of Atlanta, Ryn McColl (Matt) of Irmo, and Mary Beth Grice of Columbia–and six beloved grandchildren.
