

Irmo – A graveside service to celebrate the life of Lindsey Hennessee, 74, was held on Friday, October 5, 2012 at Bush River Memorial Gardens. The service was conducted by his nephew, Rev. Dudley Weaver, pastor of Memorial Presbyterian Church, St. Augustine, Florida. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Mr. Hennessee was born December 4, 1937 in Blackstock, SC and passed away on October 3, 2012 after an extended illness. He was the son of the late William Lester and Lelia Marthers Hennessee.
Mr. Hennessee was a 1956 graduate of Eau Claire High School. He served his country in the US Navy from 1956 to 1958. He married the former Sandra Sharpe on October 25, 1958. Later in life he attended Horry-Georgetown Technical College. He was an electrical estimator for his whole career. He lived in the Columbia area for the majority of his life with the exception of nine years when he resided at Surfside Beach.
Mr. Hennessee spent his childhood and young adult years as a member of Eau Claire Presbyterian Church. He later helped organize and build a Presbyterian church in the Chapin area. He was a ruling elder and charter member of Lake Murray Presbyterian Church. He later became a charter member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.
In addition, to his parents, Mr. Hennessee was predeceased by three siblings, Edith Raye Weaver, Ruby Lee Howard and Harris Blair Hennessee and a great grandson, Carson William Roberts.
Survivors include; his wife of nearly 54 years, Sandra “Betty” Hennessee, his son Kevin (Kathy) Hennessee of Leesville, and his daughters Kelly (Larry) Tucker, Karen (Todd) Wilson both of Irmo, two brothers William “Billy” Hennessee of Faison, NC and Joel Hennessee of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; also six grandchildren and one great grandchild and one soon to be great grandchild: Kristin (Blaine) Hinson, Brendan (Tina) Hennessee, Jordan Hennessee, Taylor Wilson, Cole Tucker, Lyn Tucker, Ethan Hennessee, and Emma Grace Hennessee.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Caughman-Harman Funeral Home and Dana Mason, his long time home health care nurse and friend.
