Luther Olin Smith

Luther Olin Smith, age 89, was born in Winnsboro, SC the son of the late Janie Mae Marthers and Luther Brown Smith. Luther was married to Viola "Winnie" Smith who passed away on December 19, 2021. He is survived by his sons; Luther C. Smith (Carolyn) of Pelion, SC, Michael V. Smith (Teresa) of Lexington, SC; daughter, Debra Heinrich (Eric) of Lexington, SC and step-daughter, Karen Brown Light of Columbia, SC along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is also survived by sisters; Peggy A. Gravermoen of Dalzell, SC, Patricia Jane Smith of Virginia Beach, SC, Frances Smith Stewart of Longtown, SC; brother, Peter Paul Foutz of Hopkins, SC. Luther was predeceased by his brothers; Donald E. Smith of Albuquerque, NM and Samuel "Sammy" J. Smith; son, Paul Eugene Smith; step-son Thomas "Tommy" C. Kelly and step-daughter, Ada Kelly.

Luther and Winnie Smith shared their journey in the truth at the Blythewood Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He often spoke about his love for the brothers and sisters of the congregation. In his remaining years, he looked forward to visits and conversations from his loving fellow witnesses.

A memorial service for Luther will be held Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 3:30 PM at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1009 Fulmer Road, Blythewood, SC 29016.
