Margaret Eugenia S Behling

CHAPIN – “Gene” Eugenia Sharp Behling, age 83, passed away on Saturday morning, June 8, 2013 at her home in Chapin, South Carolina. She was born in St. George, SC, January 12, 1930 to the late Mary Ann and Jasper A. Sharp. Gene was wife to Robert Barry Behling, Sr. for 62 years. Their children are Barbara Behling Booth of Richmond, VA and Robert Barry Behling, Jr. of Columbia. She was the proud grandmother of three grandchildren, Jordan C. Booth, Megan Booth Malanos and Meredith L. Booth and three great-grandsons, Jackson Christopher Booth, William Crawford Booth and Wesley Emmanuel Malanos. She is survived by her brother, Billy Sharp of Walterboro, SC.

She graduated from St. George High School and attended Draughon's Business College in Columbia. Gene was a faithful member of St. Andrews Baptist Church for 30 years, where she enjoyed Saints Alive, Joy Singers, her Sunday School Class and the Morris Circle.

Gene’s family will receive friends at St. Andrews Baptist Church, 230 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29210 on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2:30 at the same location. Entombment will take place in Bush River Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, South Carolina.

The family would like to thank Tri-County Hospice for their loving care - especially Anna, Johnny Mae and Lisa. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Andrews Baptist Church.
