
Marianne Grant, 29, of Blythewood, died Saturday, November 5, 2011. She was born in Lexington, South Carolina, a daughter of Joseph Richard and Linda Kay Grant. Marianne was a graduate of Ridge View High School, Class of 2000, where she excelled in cross country and softball. She was a magna cum laude graduate of Clemson University, Class of 2004. While at Clemson, Marianne was a member of the varsity rowing team. Following graduation, she served an internship at University Hospital in Augusta, GA. She then accepted a position at Texas A & M, where she specialized in diabetes education. Marianne was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she had been baptized and confirmed. Marianne was a truly loving person who gave much to mankind and showed great respect to all the animal kingdom.
Survivors include her parents, Richard and Linda Grant of Blythewood; brother, Logan Grant and wife, Brooke, of Raleigh, NC; niece, Ava Grant; nephew, Hudson Grant; uncle, The Rev. Dr. Tony Grant and wife, Beth, of York; and Pico, her beloved chihuahua.
The funeral service for Marianne will be held 2 o’clock, Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 90 Boney Rd, Blythewood, with The Rev. Dr. Cathy Jamieson-Ogg and The Rev. Dr. Tony Grant officiating. Inurnment will follow at Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the inurnment at the church.
