BLYTHEWOOD - A memorial service for Mary Gaye Carnes, 63, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Bishopville Presbyterian Church. Memorials may be made in her honor to your favorite pet rescue organization.
Gaye was born May 19, 1953 in Columbia, SC and passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017 from a long illness. She was the daughter of Clifford Kennedy Carnes, Jr. and Mattie Frances Skinner Carnes. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and worked as a Computer Software Trainer and Developer for Computer Science Corporation. She was a graduate of Kennan High School and Columbia College. Gaye loved animals and devoted herself to the rescue of innocent and defenseless animals.
She is survived by her partner, John Ashley and his daughter, Megan Ashley Crow; brother, Clifford “Ken” Carnes; one nephew, four nieces and eleven grand-nieces and nephews.
Elmwood Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
