Mary Anne Cathey

Columbia: A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Anne Deane Cathey, 84, of Columbia, will be celebrated at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, at 2 o’clock, Thursday, June 9, 2011, with The Rev. Father C. Alexander McDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1 o’clock. Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to the church at 100 Polo Rd, Columbia, SC 29223.

Mrs. Cathey died Tuesday, June 07, 2011. Born in Louisville, KY, on July 22, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Katherine Deane. Mary Anne was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church and a charter member of Logan Lap Quilters.

Survivors include her daughters, Deane Vinson of N. Myrtle Beach, Martha (Dwight) McIntyre of Elgin, Patricia (Tommy) Trammell of Columbia, Barbara (Tommy) Hennessee of Belton, TX; grandchildren, Jason (Misty) McIntyre, Ryan McIntyre, Sara Deane Vinson, Daniel Mark Vinson, Ben and Austin Trammell and Katie Hennessee; great grandchildren, Mickayla, Wade, Rob, and JD McIntyre; as well as numerous grandpets. In addition to her parents, Mary Anne was preceded in death by her husband Robert E. Cathey, Jr.; and brother, Robert Hollander.
