
Mrs. Norville formerly attended Sandy Level Baptist Church in Blythewood before attending New Heights Church on Broad River Road. She served her country at the age of sixteen years old by building airplanes while her late husband served in the US Army. Mary later worked many years at Woolworth and Belk Department Stores in the Columbia and Winnsboro area. Also a member of the Eastern Star, Mrs. Norville, will be remembered by her family as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her sons, Frank W. Norville and wife Donna of Columbia, Keith G. “Bill” Norville and companion Robert West of Lexington; grandson, Wesley Norville and wife Alison; great-grandsons, Nevin and Chandler Norville; brother, Garth Walker and his wife Marie of Athens, NY; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Keith W. Norville, son, Earl W. Norville; four brothers; one sister.
The funeral service for Mary will be held on Tuesday, April 24th, 2 o’clock, at Shives Funeral Home Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Dr., Columbia, with The Rev. Mike Townsend officiating. Burial will follow at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shives Funeral Home.
