Michael B. Arrowood

July 3, 1946January 10, 2021

Michael Bruce Arrowood was born July 3, 1946 in Kings Mountain, NC and passed on to his heavenly home on Sunday, January 10, 2021. He was the son of the late Eddie Lee Arrowood and Mozelle Horton Arrowood. Preceded in death by his beloved son, Michael Bruce Arrowood II; his brother, Bill Arrowood; a sister, Janice Payne; great granddaughter, Mia Grace Carter.

Left behind to cherish a lifetime of the most beautiful memories are his soulmate of 55 years, Emogene Robinson Arrowood; his beloved daughter, Angela Carter and her husband, Alan; three beautiful grandchildren who he considered more like his own children than grands: Christopher Shaver and wife Erica, Ashley Hammerly and husband Greg, Kyle Carter and wife, Kristen; three little lights of his life, great grands: Tripp, Luke and Cash Hammerly.

Lifelong believer in the Lord, Mike spread joy, faith and the gift of laughter to all he encountered. He had a genuine love of people, gardening and travel. He blossomed wherever he was planted, proof that home truly is where your heart is and not contained within the constraints of four walls.

Retired from Carlisle Tire, he worked as a global customer service manager where he was loved by coworkers that he also called friends.

Arrangements lovingly handled by Elmwood Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Columbia, SC.

In lieu of a funeral, Mike preferred a celebration of his life by sharing a favorite memory with family, planting a beautiful flower in your own yard or making a donation in his honor to a cause you feel passionate about. There will be a private family graveside celebration, where he will be at rest with his precious son, Michael, in Gastonia, NC.

Emogene and Angela, I know how painful the passing of Mike must be. I also know that you must take time to grieve so healing can start. Mike was a good man and one that I looked up to. Remember the kidding that my dad with Mike growing up and how Mike took it in stride. Dad only kidded those he loved and respected. Look to the Lord and our loving family for support. Prayers go with you.
