
Norma “Toni” Broaddus Zoeller, 82, of Columbia, died Friday, December 9, 2011. Born in Richmond, Virginia, May 10, 1929, daughter of the late James. B. Broaddus and Elnora Johnson Broaddus Thurston, Toni married her late husband, Frederick Louis Zoeller, Sr. in 1949. As a career Navy wife, she moved all over the world until Fred’s retirement in 1960. The Zoeller’s then came to Columbia to attend Columbia Bible College and were the directors of the Columbia Victory Center. They were missionaries to Viet Nam for many years, later returning to Columbia as directors of the Victory Center. They were also active with the Victory Ranch. Toni was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her sons, Frederick L. Zoeller, Jr. of Everett, WA and Kyle D. Zoeller of Heavener, OK; her daughter, Alice Zoeller-Sahhar of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Anna, Laura, John and Reed Zoeller and Alexander Sahhar; her brother, Daniel Thurston of Raleigh, NC.
The memorial service for Mrs. Zoeller will be held at 11 o’clock, Monday, December 12, 2011 in the Smith Chapel of First Presbyterian Church, 1420 Washington St, Columbia, with The Rev. David H. Lauten, The Rev. Dr. Mark Ross and The Rev. L. Craig Wilkes officiating. Burial will precede the memorial service at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the Atrium of Jackson Hall following the service.
