Patricia Elrod Lail

RIDGEWAY – Patricia Elrod Lail, 77, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015. A funeral will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Dunbar Funeral Home Northeast Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 prior to the service. The burial will be held following the service at Aimwell Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Ridgeway with her 11 grandsons serving as pall bearers.

Born in Williamston, SC she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Olga Duncan Elrod. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in business. She retired as an administrative assistant for the State of South Carolina. She and her husband loved to travel and have been to all 50 states and to England, Canada and the Caribbean. She enjoyed reading, gardening and playing the organ. Patricia participated in the grandmother mentoring programs in the local schools. She loved spending time with her large family and especially cooking meals for the holidays. During her later years she and her husband moved to The Village at South Lake and they participated in many of the activities.

She is survived by her loving husband, Hubert Evans Lail; daughters, Natalie (Randy) Hilliard of Columbia, Sheryl (John) Hobbs of Greer, Robin (Kenneth) Hipp of Saluda, Susan Reeder (Earl) of Columbia, Marie (Mark) Smith of Lexington; sons, Brian (Michelle) White of Atlanta, GA and Wayne Lail of Lexington; brother, Steve (Bev) Elrod of West Burlington, IA; 21 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roger C. White.
