

Pauline (Cooper) Jackson-Brown, affectionately known as Aunt Jill to so many was born on January 10, 1927, to the late Dennis Cooper and Susie (Keeton) Cooper in Monroe Georgia. She grew up in Monroe and Atlanta Georgia where she was united in marriage to Johnnie Rastus Jackson prior to him leaving for the Army in World War II. After Johnnie returned from the war the family moved to Germantown, Pennsylvania. After the loss of her husband in 1965, and son in 1969 she moved back to Atlanta in 1970. She was employed as a patient companion at Georgia Baptist Medical Center. In 1983 she married Mr. Charlie Brown, who passed in 1985. In 1998 she moved to resided in Columbia, SC until her passing.
At a very early age Pauline, accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Monroe, Ga. While in Pennsylvania she was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Germantown; after moving to Atlanta she became a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and Traveler’s Rest, of Decatur Ga, where she was a mother of the church. Residing in Columbia she was a visitor to many churches in the area. She loved her family, gardening and reading the Word.
When born, Pauline and her twin sister Claudine were premature and so small they could fit in a coffee pot. It was thought that they were not going to survive, so Momma Susie allowed her family member to name them. He named them Roosevelt and Rosevelt, the family called them Jack & Jill. In 1951 they legally changed their names to Pauline & Claudine.
Pauline leaves to cherish her life and memory, her children Carolyn Hicks of Norristown, Pa; Larry Jackson of Cleveland, Ohio; Bernard Jackson of Collegeville, Pa; Constance Collier and Alex C. Jackson of Columbia, SC. She has 21 grandchildren, dozens of great children and a multitude of great- great grandchildren, as well as a host of Nieces and Nephews. She is preceded in death by her husbands Johnnie R. Jackson and Charlie Brown; her sons Johnnie Mc Arthur and Michael James Jackson. She is the last sibling of five children, Sylvester (Ethel-spouse) Cooper, Willie (Della-spouse) Cooper, Anne (Chester-spouse) Tuggle, Minnie (John-spouse) Grimes and her twin sister, Claudine (Dewey-Spouse) Fouch.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Northeast Chapel, with burial in Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 28, 2021 at the funeral home.
