Randa Lynn McNair

COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Randa Lynn McNair, 59, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2022, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Northeast Chapel, with burial in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. McNair died Wednesday, April 13, 2022. Born in Jeffersonville, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Randall Cartright and Barbara Holder Cartright. She was a graduate of New Washington High School in Indiana. After high school, she joined the U.S. Army, where she met her husband, Belvin McNair.

She loved to create and grow things, and she spent as much time as possible gardening, sewing, quilting, and making greeting cards. She also loved reading and learning.

Randa was a breast cancer survivor, known by many as Iron Mom for her perseverance and strength. She was incredibly kind and generous, always helping those in need. She loved big and gave the best hugs.

Surviving are her loving husband, Belvin; devoted daughter, Brindy McNair; stepdaughter, Monica Pender; grandchildren, Alexavier Pender and Noah Pender III; sister, Kelly Cartright; brothers, Wesley S. Cartright (Rebecca) and Jeffrey W. Cartright (Shelly); nephew, Hunter Crace (Kelsy Roberts) and their children, Hadley and Hudson; and niece, Kaylee Cartright.
