Ruth Horne

COLUMBIA – Ruth K. Horne of Still Hopes Community died July 29, 2013. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Arlington Cemetery, where she will be interred by her late husband, John E. Horne.

Mrs. Horne was born in San Diego, CA. She was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Alabama. For many years she had lived in Alexandria, VA, before coming to Columbia following her husband’s death in 1985. She was a member of Trinity Cathedral.

Mrs. Horne is survived by her daughters, Linda (Richard) Clark of Chapel Hill, NC, Susan (Jim) Ewart of Columbia; grandchildren, Kristin (Jonathan) Johnson, Lisa Ewart, Jonathan (Elizabeth) Clark, Jenny (Jason) Stone; and five great-grandchildren.

A special thanks to her loving care givers, Mary Ann Myers, Geraldine Alston, Thelma Cornish, Donna Turner, Ollie Bookert and Barbara Babu.
