Samuel Coley Bowen

A memorial service for Samuel “Sam” Coley Bowen, 89, of Columbia will be held 7 o’clock, Sunday evening, December 4, 2011 at the Broad River Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 7445 Broad River Road, Irmo, with Bill Sims officiating. A private burial will be held at Southland Memorial Gardens. Shives Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Mr. Bowen passed peacefully in his sleep, Thursday, November 24, 2011. Born in Kershaw County, he was a son of the late Earl and Essie Addington Bowen. He was a member of the Broad River Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, had been an Elder for many years in other local congregations, and was a retired roofing contractor.

Survivors include his wife, Eileen Bowen; daughters, Joyce (Dennis) Westenfeld, and Vickie (Roy) Mitchell; grandchildren, Autumn Joy, Damon, and Harmony; 3 great-grandchildren; 3 stepchildren and numerous brothers and sisters.
