

He was born the youngest child of Vance and Mattie Burbage and spent all of his childhood in Aruba. The family lived in The Colony and shared a close relationship with their neighbors for many years to come. Thomas returned to South Carolina when he was in high school. He attended school in North Carolina, and later attended the University of South Carolina. He served in the US Air Force.
Thomas worked as a Data Operations Officer for the First National Bank of SC. He also worked as a Business Manager for the Summit Club in downtown Columbia, and for the Spring Valley Country Club.
Thomas was gifted at playing many styles of music on his Hammond organ. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed caring for many types of plants and flowers.
He was predeceased by his parents, Vance and Mattie Burbage; his brothers, Roy E. Burbage and Robert L. Burbage; his sister in law, Peggy Burbage, and his cat, Minerva.
Thomas is survived by his brother, William A. Burbage; nieces and nephews: Robert O. Burbage (Jan), William Vance Burbage (Cecelia), Donna Chambley, and Becky Massingale (Steve).
The family would like to thank the staff of Heart of Hospice, especially Cathy Martin, and in-home caregiver Tatyana Leaphart.
There will be no formal services as he requested.
