Born on December 13, 1941, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Lenora Carter Speaks and Thomas French. Tommie Jean's early years were spent between Oklahoma and Kentucky until her mother remarried, M.C. Speaks, settling the family in Salinas, California, where she resided until 2001.
In her journey through life, Tommie Jean found love and companionship in her husband, Charles L. Crawford, with whom she shared 57 years of marriage until his passing in January 2023. Together, they embraced the joys and challenges of life, building a family filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Tommie Jean's is survived by her children: a son, Mark Crawford (Audrey), and her daughter, Kerri Fischer (Kelley). She was a loving and supportive grandmother to four grandchildren: JT Crawford (Britt), Tyler Fischer, Billie Rae Wilson (Raymond), and Alyssa Fischer,
