She was born in Hawaii. Velta exemplified living life as a free spirited, kindhearted, loving, strong and independent woman.
Velta was the daughter of the late Madlyn Ida Trotter and Jimmy Shockley.
She is survived by three children, Larry Lyston Harsey, Jr. of Leesville, Chad Christopher Argoe of Lexington and Maxie Michelle Argoe of Lexington; her grandchildren, Kendall “Max” Strickland, Anthony Argoe and Miss Olivia Argoe; her sisters, Geraldine G. Hartley of Batesburg, Rhonda Greer of Cayce, Audrey Craft of Gilbert and Cindy Livingston of Lexington; as well as many nieces and nephews she truly adored. She was predeceased by her husbands, Maxie McKenzie Argoe and Charles Daniel Wade.
Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, located at 503 N. Lake Drive, Lexington, South Carolina with Rev. H. Larry Jones officiating.
