Born September 25, 1936 in Olean, NY, he was the son of Clark and Alta Harmon Greene.
Wayland was a graduate of the Bolivar Central School, Class of 1955. Following graduation, he went into the Army and Army reserves, where he was honorably discharged.
He was employed by Turbodyne for many years. Wayland also worked in sales for Diamond Saw Inc. and the insurance industry. Following his retirement, Wayland spent his time with the Mason’s, Shriners, and spending time in the Oil Fields.
Surviving are five children, Clark W. Greene of Hamburg, NY, Les (Betsy) Greene of Bolivar, NY, Jeffery M. Greene of Port Charlotte, FL, David B. Greene of Amity, NY, and Cheryl A. Greene of Bolivar, NY; six grandchildren, Lucas T. Greene Corrinne Greene, Jessica Greene, Janelle Greene, Genevieve Greene and Lealah Greene; one sister, Nona Greene Cummings of Springhill, FL; one brother, William Greene of Oswego, NY; and living companion, Carole Greene of Columbia, SC.
Wayland was preceded in death by his parents.
A military service is being held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC 29229 on March 5th, 2025 at 12:00 PM.
