
CHAPIN – Mr. William N. “Buddy” Harley, 75, passed away on February 13, 2012. Mr. Harley was born in North, SC, son of the late Walter D. and Bertie Lee Harley. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel, 5400 Bush River Road, with Dr. Ben Sloan of Lake Murray Presbyterian Church officiating. The family will receive friends at the chapel at 11:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Harley began his long career in the operation of heavy equipment, first in Charleston, SC and then with Jeff Hunt Machinery Company in Columbia, SC. He retired as owner of Quality Grading and Clearing in 2005.
Mr. Harley is survived by his loving wife, DeNere Anderson-Harley; sons, William N. Harley Jr. (Jeanne) of Gaston and Douglas Harley (Katherine) of Swansea; stepsons, George A. “Andy” Anderson (Susie) and Eric A. Anderson (Bryce) of Chapin; sisters, Mary Courts and Edna Roof (Alvin), both of North; brother, James H. Harley (Marie) of Coral Gables, FL and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Palmetto Health Hospice, P.O. Box 352, Newberry, SC 29218 or Lake Murray Presbyterian Church, 2721 Dutch Fork Road, Chapin, SC 29036.
