He was born in Greenville, SC on September 5, 1948.
Mr. McCoy was the son of William Paul McCoy, Sr. and Alma McCoy.
He is survived by his daughter, Lori McCoy Richardson and son-in-law, Andy Wayne Richardson; stepson, Toby Keisler; grandchildren, TJ Keisler and Katie Keisler; brothers, Phil Stanley McCoy and Willard James McCoy; sister, Linda Gale Blackwell and beloved cat, Holly Jean McCoy.
He is predeceased by Carlene Price McCoy, William Paul McCoy, Sr., Alma McCoy, Elaine McCoy, Barbara McCoy Costello and beloved pets, Tigger and Peep Peep McCoy Richardson.
He was honorably discharged from the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran. While in the Army, he earned the M-14 Rifle Badge for Marksmanship, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Expert Rifle M-16 and Department of the Army Certificate of Appreciation.
Mr. McCoy was a retired foreman of Honeywell. He was a proud member of the FFA and received the Medal for Public Speaking. He enjoyed golf, astronomy and gardening and was a fan of the Clemson Tigers.
Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
