Willie Huffman Crapps

Mrs. Willie “Billie” Huffman Crapps, 84, of Columbia, died at her home Sunday, January 15, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Born November 26, 1927, in Richland County, SC, she was a daughter to the late Charlton Jacob and Meta Virginia Quattlebaum Huffman. Billie was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and the WELCA. Her passions in life were her faith in God and her love for her children & grandchildren. Billie will be remembered for the kindness and compassion she showed to all.

Survivors include her sons, Walter “Chuck” (Cindy) Crapps of Gilbert, Weston (Vicki) Crapps of Elgin; daughters, Sherry Spangler of Charleston, Kathy (Terry) Minor of Columbia; twelve grandchildren, Chris and Jason Crapps of Elgin, Adam Fields of Easley, Chad Alexander of Aiken, Patrick and Kelly Crapps of Kansas City, Missouri, Ashley Spangler of Charleston, Courtney Spangler Collins of Inman, Eric and Austin Stack of Prosperity, Tiffany Ingersoll of Lexington and Matthew Mave of Gilbert; seven great-grandchildren; foster son, Gary (Shelia) Phillips of Columbia; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Billie was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Charles “Lacy” Crapps; three brothers; and three sisters.

The funeral service for Mrs. Crapps will be held 2 o’clock, Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Christ Lutheran Church, with The Reverend H. Brett Collins and The Rev. Dr. Mark S. Bredholt officiating. Interment will follow at Woodridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5 until 8 o’clock at Shives Funeral Home, 5202 Colonial Dr, Columbia.
