

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Woodrow “Woody” Wilson Evans, Jr departed this world and entered his heavenly home January 18,2025 at the age of 83. Born on March 1,1941, in Wilson, NC, he was the son of Woodrow W. Evans, Sr and Gladys Deans Evans.
Woody is survived by his loving wife, Joann Cassidy Evans, and children Leah (Greg) Bouknight of Elgin, SC, son Craig (Hilary) Evans of Columbia, SC and Jayne (Mel) Seboe of Lexington, SC. Grandchildren, Heath (Britney) Bouknight, Jake (Danielle) Bouknight, Brody Bouknight all of Columbia, SC, Art (Marilee) Seboe and Kathi Seboe of Lexington, SC and Brandon (Christina) Seboe of Gilbert, SC. Great grandchildren Paisley and Charlette Bouknight, Jackson Bouknight, Gavin, Drayton, Marista & Alexa Seboe, Charleigh Seboe, Mason Melton, and soon to arrive great granddaughter Magnolia Bouknight. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Larry Cassidy of Maggie Valley, NC. He was predeceased by his parents and brother Jimmy Evans.
Woody retired as a Field Engineer from NCR Corp. He was also a “jack-of-all-trades” if it could be repaired, he could do it. Woody was a proud Mason and Past Master of the Dentsville Lodge, and a Shriner of Jamil Temple. Woody never met a stranger, and he had fun wherever he went. He loved life, helping people, laughter, feeding the birds and cats, his friends and his family. His legacy of Love, Laughter and Loyalty will live on in those who knew and loved him.
Woody was a man of immense warmth, kindness and strength. He dedicated his life to family, friends, community and the need to provide help to those within the Mason’s and Shriner’s family. His infectious smile, twinkle in the eye and spirit will be missed by all who knew him. Woody will be remembered for his unwavering love and the remarkable life he lived. His memory will be cherished always.
Woody was a member of Lake Murray Baptist Church.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 31, 2025 at Lake Murray Baptist Church, 1001 US Hwy 378, Lexington, SC. The Reverend David Sons will officiate. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at 1:00 pm.
