Aaron Oliver Land known also as “Ollie” died at home on January 10, 2016. A loving husband of 38 years to Mary Jane Land, wonderful father of Angela Land and Lisa Land. A perfect grandfather to Hunter Land, son of Angela Land. Hunter was Ollie’s sparkle in his eye. He loved long and with a very large heart. He never met anyone that didn’t become his friend for life. He was the son of the late Lucille Jackson and Brewster Mallory Land. He was also a loving son to the late Irene and William Formby, parents of Mary Jane Land. He was a brother to Brewster “Sonny” Land and his wife Carol, Uncle to his nieces Terri Ozley and her husband Daryl, Alison Brown and her husband Erik and their children Dustin, Brandon, and Lana. He also had many loves and kisses from his fur babies: Cookie, Danni, Rosie, Bentley, and Apple, whom loved him dearly. Anytime anyone needed Ollie he would be there for them, he took very good care of his whole family. He pushed himself till the night of his death, he died at home peacefully with Mary Land and Lisa Land there with him. Ollie was an avid fan of the Columbus Cottonmouths Hockey team. He loved his hockey games and all his friends he met there. Harry James, his pal in crime, and Ollie were best friends at the hockey games. Ollie kept everyone laughing, complete strangers, friends and many more. Graduate of Jordan Vocational High School in 1965, Ollie served his country faithfully in the U.S. Navy, Naval career on the USS Oriskany and in the Naval Reserves. When he got out of the Naval Reserves he became a local truck driver, known as “Boss Hogg”, for Watkins Motor Line retiring in 1984, where he had a bad wreck with a gas tanker, ending his driving trucks. A very thoughtful husband, father and friend, mostly a great person to come acquainted with. We will always love and miss you.
