Growing up, Dakota played soccer, basketball, and football. He loved the outdoors and played outside for as long as he could after coming home from school. He was finishing his studies at Penn Foster High School. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Dakota was an avid fan of the Carolina Panthers and the Georgia Bulldawgs. He also enjoyed watching MMA, playing his X-Box games, going fishing and hunting. He loved his fur baby Demon (Huskie) and go mud riding in his truck.
He is survived by his mom and dad, Kimberly Riley and Adam Riley; his biological father, Allan Carlos Sutherland; his siblings, Lily Riley, Nevaeh Riley, Brannon Riley, Kaletra Sutherland and Millana Sutherland; his pawpaw and nana James and Jeanette Riley; his memaw Pat Wood, Lisa Crain and Susan Sutherland; great-grandmother Anna Crain; his grandfather, Leon Sutherland and Mike Lamebull; his aunts, Anne Wood, Denise (Shawn) Ware and Jenny (Robert) Grant, Susan Mensch and Marsha Deering; and numerous cousins, Jayme Ingram, Brittany Landenberg and friends. Dakota was preceded in death by his pawpaw David Wood; his godfather, David Hall; his great-grandparents, Roy and Rosemary Mensch and Allan Crain.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 US-431, Phenix City, AL 36868 on Thursday, February 9th, 2023 at 6:30PM. Pastor Kevin Baker, Pastor Gary Johnson, Jazmin Rivera and Brandon Landenberg will be officiating service. Family will visit with family and friends on Thursday evening from 5:30PM to 6:30PM. Burial will take place in Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 on Friday, February 10th, 2023 at 10:00AM. Flowers are welcome!
