Norma Anita Barnes, age 63, resident of Columbus, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital. Graveside services are scheduled at Parkhill Cemetery on Saturday, November 12, 2016, 3 p.m. with Reverend Mike Reeves officiating according to Striffler-Hamby, Columbus. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Saturday, November 12, 2016 from 1 pm till 2:30 pm.
Mrs. Barnes, daughter of the late Leon Ballance and Josephine Greene Ballance, was born August 25, 1953 in North Carolina. She is survived by her husband Johnny Barnes of Columbus; two sons, E.J. Phelps of Columbus and Cecil (Daphne) Young of Mauk, Georgia; two grandchildren, Cecil Young III and Morgan Phelps; one brother, Larry Parker of Mauk, Georgia; one sister, Robbie (Karam) Parker of Kuwait.
