A graveside memorial service will be held in Riverdale Cemetery at a later date.
Mrs. Cheek was born February 14, 1928 in Macon, GA, daughter of the late William H. Barksdale and Lillian Gertrude Williams Sawyer. She was a lifetime member of Eastern Heights Baptist Church where she was a member and teacher of the Naomi/Ruth Sunday School Class. Her presence will be missed daily, but her memory will live forever in our hearts.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cheek was preceded in death by her husband, SGT Rastus Leonard Cheek, her son Len Cheek, and a brother, Bruce Barksdale.
Survivors include her daughter, Diane Freeman and her husband, Jackie of Peachtree City, GA; three grandchildren, Katie Seagrove, Mollie Freeman, and Robert Cheek; two great grandchildren, Emily Cheek and Haze Cheek; one brother, Robert Barksdale.
