Anna Maria Tyler, 73, of Columbus, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 1, 2018. Her family would like to welcome friends and loved ones for visitation, Thursday, July 5, 2018, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm EST at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, Georgia. Graveside services will take place at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery on Friday, July 6, 2018, at 11:00 am EST with Pastor Donavon O. Coley to officiate.
Anna Maria Tyler will be lovingly remembered as the strong, independent woman she was. Happy and cheerful, she was motherly and only wanted the best for those she cared for. She was born February 8, 1945, in West Blockton, Alabama, to the late Pearline Agee Kimbrough and James Kimbrough. She dedicated her life to the Lord, her family and friends.
Mrs. Tyler was associated with many groups including: Modern Free and Accepted, Masons and Order of Eastern Star of which she was a Past Matron, and Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary of which she was a past president.
Alongside her parents, Anna is reunited with her: loving husband, Dorsey Tyler; son, Kenneth Hall; sister, Eula Hawkins; and brothers, James Kimbrough, Jr. and Leon Kimbrough.
She is survived by her: grandson, Kenneth Pace; granddaughter, Sharnay Thomas; great-granddaughters, Shaniah Danielle Davis, Chloe Pace and Serenity Pace; great-grandson Kenneth Pace, Jr.; sisters, Juliet (Norman) Burke, Doretha (Benjamin) Vann, Rebecca Sanders; brother, Francis Kimbrough; and cousin who cared for Mrs. Tyler lovingly for many years, Patricia Morton, best friend, Alfreda Walker and nephews Charles and Patrick.
