Annie Margaret Brock Watson

Annie Margaret (Brock) Forrester Watson, age 93 of Columbus, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11:00 am at Altman Memorial Baptist Church, with Pastor Udell Addison officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday September 15, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary and one hour prior to services at the church.

Annie was born in Birmingham, AL on Tuesday, February 5, 1924. She is the daughter of James W. Brock Sr. and Lela Mae Miller Brock. Annie grew up in the Cullman area and came to Columbus for employment, where she has resided for over 70 years. During that time she made many friends working at the Bibb Mill. While in Columbus she also met Buford Forrester, whom she married in October 27, 1944. Together they had 4 children. After Buford’s passing she met and married Harold O. Watson.

Through the years Annie enjoyed gardening, especially tomatoes and roses. What she loved the most was time spent with her family, especially all of her grandchildren. Annie had a deep faith in her Savior Jesus Christ and strengthened it by attending church every week and spending time with her church family.

Annie is preceded in death by: husband, Buford Forrester, husband, Harold O. Watson; daughters, Joyce Craft, Linda Williams; a son, Neil Forrester. Survivors include: a daughter, Mary Milam; 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.
