Arthur Lee Atwood, a hard-working and honest man, passed away on February 15, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on March 19, 1959, in Elwood, Indiana, Arthur's life was characterized by dedication to his family, his career, and his community.
Arthur graduated from Jordan Vocational High School in 1977. He retired after 20 years of service from the Cessna Aircraft Company, where he worked in Inventory Control.
Arthur is survived by his beloved wife, Michele Atwood, and his children, Danielle Tindall (AJ) and Jacob Barfield. He was a proud grandfather to Parker Tindall. He is also survived by his siblings, Linda Chandler, Lori May (Lee), and Carla Atwood (Michelle). His nephew Chris Chandler. His mother-in-law, Gail Watson, and father-in-law, Michael Barfield, along with his brother-in-law, Mickey Barfield (Wanda), and sisters-in-law, Alecia Maddox (Sean) and Amanda Retter (Jon) Arthur was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Litaker, father, Pete Litaker, and brother-in-law, James Chandler.
Arthur cherished spending time with his children and grandson. He was passionate about fishing, hunting, and attending his grandson Parker's baseball games. A true sports enthusiast, Arthur was a fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. He enjoyed going to the movies, with "Heaven is For Real" being his favorite. Known for his sense of humor, Arthur loved telling jokes and pranking people.
Arthur was a devoted member of the Edgewood Assembly of God Church. Arthur Lee Atwood will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his integrity, and his zest for life.
A celebration of Arthur's life will be 2:00 pm Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Edgewood assembly of God Church with Reverend Charles Hays officiating according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA.
