Ashlee Laurel Perron Hero, age 35, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2026 at Emory Hospital after a brief but courageous battle with leukemia. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at 1:30 PM, prior to the funeral service at 2:00 PM.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the Fisher Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, located at 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907
Ashlee was a beautiful, creative, and incredibly talented soul who brought her own special light into the lives of those around her. She had a deep love for all genres of music, painting with watercolors, and a natural imagery that was woven into so much of who she was. Creativity was part of her heart and one of the ways she expressed herself and connected with the world around her.
Left behind to cherish her memory: her Son, Rylan Lee McWhorter; her Mother and bonus Dad, Rhonda and John Alexander; her Father and bonus Mom, Lee and Sandy Perron; her Maternal Grandmother, Mildred Allen (MeMa); her Uncles, Michael (Rhonda) Allen and Paul (Denise) Wilhelm; her Aunt, Jennifer Allen Heverly (Corey); her bonus Dad, Ken Blackmon; her bonus brothers, JK Alexander and Josh Blackmon; numerous cousins; and her beloved partner, John Sorenson; Aunts of the heart Shawna Hartley, Dana Hartley Weiler, Kathy Conley, and Traci Hardeman Shaffer;, Tammy Blackmon Rogers. Uncle of the heart Chip Spikes along with additional family members and close friends.
Although Ashlee’s life was far too short, the love she shared and the beauty she brought into the world will never be forgotten. Her spunk, creativity, laughter, memories, and the imprint she left on the hearts of those who loved her will remain forever.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the physicians, nurses, hospice care team and entire staff at the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. Their compassion, dedication, and care for Ashlee and her family during such a difficult time will always be remembered and deeply appreciated.
As a spiritual person, Ashlee accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior which brings all believers into the Light of love, forgiveness, mercy and grace. Ashlee will be loved beyond words, missed beyond measure, and remembered for all the beauty she brought into this world.
Rest peacefully, Ashlee. Your light may have left this world, but it will forever shine in the hearts of those who love you. She is now dancing in her field of daisies with blue butterflies.
