Ashlei Janay Williams “Turtle” was born to John S. Williams III and Lantre D. Williams on November 15, 1999, in Fort Leonard Wood, MO.
Ashlei departed this life on July 7, 2026, at WellStar North Fulton Medical Center in Roswell, GA.
Ashlei is preceded in death by her grandfathers, John S. Williams Jr. and Grady R. Metts, Grandmother, Aldine Williams; two aunts, Judy Y. Metts and Donna J. Williams; one uncle, Loyal Q. Williams.
Ashlei’s life was short but well lived. She had a smile that would brighten any room. She was truly loved by her family and friends. Having lived the life of a military child, she was driven and very hard on herself. Although being a very shy and serious individual, she still managed to be hilarious to those close to her. She loved and cherished her 3 best friends (Chelsa Williamson, Kalei White-Reese, and Brennan Vardeman). She graduated in 2017 with honors from W. H. Shaw High School, Columbus, GA. She graduated Cum Laude from Kennesaw State University, Marietta, GA. in 2021 with a degree in Computer Science. She loved fashion & art designing, crafting, traveling, and her cat, Rogue. She had a great love for the outdoors, the beach, and hiking.
Her memories will be cherished by her parents, John and Lantre Williams; a brother, Darius Dozier (Diandra) of Columbus, GA.; a grandmother, Lucille Metts of Louisville, MS.; a Neice, Suriyah Richards; a nephew’ Serani Bondurant-Dozier; aunts, Gwendolyn Williams-McCoy of Gastonia, NC., and Vanessa Metts of Louisville, MS. Uncles, Darrin Hardin (Jacquelyn) of Louisville, MS. and Reginald S. Williams (Shelia) of Warsaw, NC; Godparents, Willie and Felicia Walker of Douglasville, GA.; Godmother, Wanda Gardner of Lancaster, PA.; Godbrother, Jaheim Flournoy, of Fort Mitchell, AL.; Special Aunt, Trina Hinds of Hinesville, GA., and a host of family and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Striffler Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the chapel with a burial following at Parkhill Cemetery.
