Audrey Carmichael

Audrey Carmichael, age 70, resident of Fortson, died on Monday, January 23, 2012. Funeral services are scheduled at Victory Heights Baptist Church on Thursday, January 26, 2012, 11 a.m. with Reverend Gary Gibson officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. Mrs. Carmichael, daughter of the late Noel Douglas Jernigan and Bonnie Dell Love Jernigan, was born January 24, 1941 in Cottonwood, AL. She was a member of Victory Heights Baptist Church. Mrs. Carmichael was preceded in death by two sisters, Merle Wilks and Evelyn Gillman. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bobby Carmichael of Fortson, GA; one daughter, Robin Higgins and her husband Mike of Fortson; one son, Donald Carmichael and his wife Laurie of Ellerslie, GA; one sister, Jeretha Brannon of Columbus; one brother, Wayne Jernigan and his wife Joyce of Headland, AL; four grandchildren, Alex Higgins and his wife Cassie, Tyler Higgins, Kayla Carmichael, and Samantha Carmichael; one great-grandson, Aiden Higgins; other relatives and friends.
