Audrey "MeeMaw" Railey Herring, age 95, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2025. She was born on July 1 ,1930, in Dothan, Alabama to the late Claudia and Ross Railey. Audrey attended high school in Dothan, Alabama and worked as a finisher in the Fieldcrest Mills. She married the love of her life Floyd Louis Herring, Jr., and they were married for 63 years until his passing in 2011.
Audrey, known as "MeeMaw", found great joy in cheering on the Atlanta Braves, and crocheting blankets for veterans, hospice house, and anyone in need. She enjoyed cooking delicious meals, tending to her garden and most of all spending cherished time with her family.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Floyd Herring, Jr. of 63 years, her son Randy Herring, one brother Jack and two sisters Mildred and Kathleen.
Audrey is survived by her three daughter's; Vickie Wallace of Smiths, Al., Gail (Charles) Johnson of Columbus, Ga., Tammy (Paul) Bowden of Fortson, Ga., One son Terry (Juvonda) Herring of Columbus, Ga., along with 12 grandchildren, 28 Great- grandchildren and 5 great-great - grandchildren.
A funeral service will occur Monday, July 14, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Fisher Chapel of Striffler Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907, with a visitation for family and friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Riverdale Cemetery, 1000 Victory Dr, Columbus, GA 31901.
Serving as pallbearers are her grandsons David Taylor, Mike Johnson, Scotty Johnson, Matthew Wallace, Jeremy Johnson and Frank Bowden
