August Brentari, 80, of Columbus, GA, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Columbus Hospice House. A chapel service will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 3:00PM with a visitation one hour prior in the Edgewood Hall Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary.
Born on September 17, 1941 in Pottsville, PA he was the son of Emma and August Brentari. Butch as he was known to many, was a retired Sargent First Class in the Army for 20 years. He loved Motown music, dancing with his wife, cooking and baking. Butch also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends but most of all, he adored his grandchildren.
Butch is preceded in death by his parents, Emma and August; and his brother, Eugene Brentari.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Gereldine Brentari; four children, Mary Brentari Skinner, John Brentari, Melissa Barker (Stanley), and Cindy Flores (Danny); eight grandchildren, Jackson Schwoebel, Seth Flores, Ethan Flores, Keondra Kalpen, Kadar Kalpen, Madison Freeman (Clinton), Savanna Barker and Shelby Barker; one great grandchild, Aubrey Grace; and one brother, Richie Brentari (Judy).
