Barbara “Ann” Johnson, age 69, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. A graveside celebration of life for Ann will be held Friday, February 19, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907. A burial will follow at Parkhill Cemetery.
Ann was born September 27, 1951 in Columbus, Georgia to Emily Collins Strickland and Robert Strickland Sr. She was a life-long resident of Columbus and graduated from Jordan Vocational High School. Before retiring, she was a Book Keeper for Builder’s First Source. Ann was very close to her family and loved to cook for family gatherings. She was a caregiver to so many, including her husband, Joe who she lost in 2016. She began working out with Zumba Classes and enjoyed herself. She taught her children by example to value their family, and have unconditional love and be true to yourself. Ann was a good person and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Her loving husband of 43 years Joseph Clayton Johnson, Sr.; father Robert Strickland Sr. and mother Emily Collins Strickland preceded Ann in death. She is survived by son Joseph Clayton Johnson, Jr (Dayna); and daughter Jamie Johnson Doan (Greg); brother Robert Strickland Jr. (Joyce); grandsons Anderson and Jackson Doan and Dylan and Mason Johnson.
