Barbara D. Moore, 93, of Columbus, Georgia, went to her Heavenly home on Sunday, July 26, 2026. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 12:00 PM at First Baptist Church, Columbus, Georgia 31901 with a visitation and fellowship following in the Fellowship Hall.
Barbara was born on October 14, 1932, to Myrtice and Thomas Daniel in Columbus, Georgia. She graduated from Jordan Vocational High School in 1949, and went to work for several years at Bibb Manufacturing Company. She then developed an interest in health care, training as an X-ray Technologist, and since there were no transcriptionists she had to type all her reports. Her first job as a Medical Transcriptionist was working with Dr. Jack Hughston. In 1973, she went to work at St. Francis Hospital, working as a Medical Transcriptionist until September 1984 when the Hughston Hospital opened. She worked at Hughston Hospital until 1997, took two weeks off and went back to work for Management Services Network. She worked for them part time, from 1997 until 2024, retiring just 2 years ago.
A follower of Christ, through the years she attended a couple of churches in Columbus but most recently she attended First Baptist Church.
Barbara was an avid reader and enjoyed old musicals and watching Andy Griffith as well as game shows. While her family members were Georgia Fans she was an avid Alabama Fan. She will be known for being charitable and her kindheartedness.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, Charles Braxton Moore; her sister, Patricia Thurman and her parents as well as her step-father, Shelton Hunter. She is survived by: her children, Pam (Ken) Bailey and Bobby (Kim) Moore; two grandchildren, Timothy (Crystal) Quattrociocchi and Todd (Lisa) Quattrociocchi; nine great grandchildren, Christian Hall, Will Quattrociocchi, Constance Hall, Alicia Quattrociocchi, Kloie Quattrociocchi, Jax Quattrociocchi, Lawless Quattrociocchi, Tricen Quattrociocchi and Georgia Quattrociocchi: two great great grandchildren, Elias and Evalyna.
