Bernice H Burgamy

Bernice Hobbs Burgamy passed away Friday, February 25, 2011 at her home in Cusseta, GA surrounded by her family. Memorial services will be held at First Baptist Church of Cusseta, Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Parkhill Cemetery, Columbus. Visitation will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus on Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

Mrs. Burgamy was born on April 30, 1928 in Ideal, GA to the late Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Wilson Hobbs. She was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Cusseta for over 65 years. Mrs. Burgamy was happily married to the late James Edgar Burgamy for 50 years. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and adored grandmother.

Survivors include her five children, Tony Burgamy of Cusseta, GA, Bob Burgamy of Panama City Beach, FL, Anne Davis (Fred) of Cusseta, GA, Gene Burgamy (Pam) of Cusseta, GA and Patricia Gaye Suggs (Roger) of Columbus, GA. She had 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Flowers are accepted but memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 5900 River Rd # 301, Columbus, GA 31904 or to the American Cancer Society, 233 12th St # 710, Columbus, GA 31901.
