Betty H. Cummings

With Sadness the family and dear friends of Betty Cummings announce her passing on Thursday, March 18, 2021. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 29, 2021 at 11:00 in the Chapel of Pines at Parkhill Cemetery, a visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the service.

Betty was born October 21, 1926; the daughter of Robert and Pauline Hight of Sparta, Ga. While living and working in Macon after WW II, she met and, married William Cummings. They settled in Columbus, GA and raised two daughters, Sharolyn and Jeanne.

Betty was a loving and caring lady to all those that knew her. She enjoyed playing bridge with her bridge club and church activities at Epworth United Methodist. She shared an interest in Genealogy with her daughter Sharolyn and granddaughter. During her years at Riverplace, Betty was active in various activities and enjoyed daily fellowship with her many friends.

She is preceded in death by: her husband, William (Bill) Cummings; a daughter Jeanne Flowers; her parents, and two brothers, Bob and Don.

Survivors included: Sharolyn (Craig) Childress; granddaughter, Caitlyn (Jason) Bergeron; grandson, Ben Flowers; great grandchildren, Ian and Megan.

In her later years Betty was lovingly cared for by Evelyn Brown, Cathy Munson, and Nikki Jones. Their love, laughter, and care will always be appreciated.
