Betty Riley Hendrix, 87 of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral service will be on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 3:00 PM in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby with Dr. Kevin Calhoun officiating. Family will visit with friends Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM in the St. Elmo room of Striffler-Hamby. Flowers are accepted, but memorial donations can be made to American Heart Association, 1639 Bradley Park Dr., Suite 500, #379, Columbus, Georgia 31904. Betty Riley Hendrix was born on April 30, 1929 to the late Clarence Marvin Riley and Queenie Victoria Fann Riley. She graduated in 1949 from Macon Hospital School of Nursing and in that same year on May 21st she was married to Jack W. Hendrix, and has been married to him for almost 68 years. Mrs. Hendrix served as a Public Health Nurse with the Muscogee County Health Department for 30 years. She was a member of Britt David Baptist Church. Mrs. Hendrix will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 68 years, Jack W. Hendrix; sons, David W. (Debbie) Hendrix and Dennis R. (Carol) Hendrix; daughter, Darlene Hendrix (Steve) Capista; grandchildren: Heather Hendrix, Miles (Anna) Hendrix, Jenni (Lee) Hendrix-Rhodes, Barclay Hendrix, Paul Capista, Laura Capista; great grandchildren: Emmie Grace Hendrix, Lawson Lang Hendrix; numerous other relatives and friends.
