Betty Jean Hester

Betty Jean Hester, age 83, of Columbus, GA passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Russ Kinron Hester. Mrs. Hester is survived by her beloved dog Sammie; siblings Robert Turnage, Harold and Melissa Turnage, Butch and Larue Turnage, and Glenda Chandler; children Patty and Mark Turpen; grandchildren Brent and Emily Ogburn, Karissa Ogburn Askew, Rami Watson, and Berkley Watson; great grandchildren Jackson and Everett Ogburn, Riley and Brady Askew, and Michael Castro; as well as countless numbers of other family members and lifelong friends. Mrs. Hester lived a full life, always having a good time and helping others in need. Her most recent employment was at Life Care Center in Lawrenceville, GA, where her presence brought joy to every resident. Betty never met a stranger and was a blessing in the life of everyone she encountered. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Galilean Baptist Church in Lawrenceville, GA at 11 a.m. with Dr. Tolbert Moore officiating.
