

Betty Jean Hunsinger, age 83, resident of Columbus, died on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Columbus Hospice House. Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus on Monday, January 28, 2013, 3 p.m. with Reverend David Howle officiating. Entombment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery, Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, January 27, 2013 from 3-5 p.m. Mrs. Hunsinger, daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Hall and Jimmie Odell Wilkes Hall, was born May 18, 1929 in Malvern, Alabama. She was a homemaker, member of Edgewood Baptist Church, and was owner of Muffet Day Care. In 1991, she was recognized as ABWA Woman of the Year. Mrs. Hunsinger was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Hunsinger; son, Bruce Allen Hunsinger; and sister, Margie Lee. She is survived by one daughter, Tammy Barrineau and her husband John of Jacksonville, Florida; two sons, Larry Wayne Hunsinger of Shiloh, Georgia and Darrell Scott Hunsinger of Columbus; one sister, Marion Rice of Columbus; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
