
A choir of angels welcomed Betty H. Jones of Columbus, Georgia into their midst June 14, 2013 as she passed peacefully away at her home. A celebration of Betty’s memorable life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 16, 2013 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the service on Monday, June 16, 2013 from 10-11 a.m. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery.
Born in Houston County, Alabama to the late Charlie Ross Hollis and Annie Louise Gibson Hollis on December 18, 1932, she grew up in Columbus, Georgia and married the love of her life, B. Donnis Jones, who passed away in 1996. Betty was a longtime and faithful member of Morningside Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her son, Cecil Bradley Jones and brother Bobby Hollis. Betty is survived by her son, B. Donnis Jones, Jr. and Jan Jones; daughter, Pamela Jones Morrison and her husband Dewey Morrison, all of Columbus; her sister, Brenda Hollis Glueck and her husband Tom Glueck of Cincinnati, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Christine Jones of Columbus and Betty Hollis of Griffin, Georgia; her grandchildren, Amy Griffis and husband David Griffis of Columbus, Abigail Hines and her husband Jeff Hines of Wichita, Kansas, and Andrew Berli and his wife Elizabeth Berli of Alpharetta, Georgia; her beloved great-grandchildren, Katherine and Kaitlyn Griffis, Andrew and Aiden Hines, and Dean Berli; many other relatives and friends.
Betty will be forever remembered for her unfailing faith, love, kindness, and iron clad devotion to her family and friends. Admired by many, she loved God above all else and was most certainly met at heaven’s gates with a resounding “Well done, good and faithful servant!”
